Under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW), you have the right to know the information that CityRail collects about users of its website, the purpose for which the information is collected, how the information is used and to whom, if anyone, the information is to be disclosed.

Site visit data

CityRail maintains site visit data to help us improve our site and provide better train services. When you access the CityRail website, CityRail logs your IP address (which indicates the location of your computer on the Internet), the date and time of your visit and the pages accessed. CityRail may also perform analysis of the user behaviour of its website in order to measure interest in various areas of the website. CityRail does not identify users or their browsing activites.

Feedback

If you submit a website feedback form, the details that you submit to CityRail will be securely stored and used for the purpose of improving the CityRail website and services. Any complaints submitted via the CityRail website will be forwarded to Transport Info (131 500).

Disclosure of information

CityRail may share the information it gathers with any business unit within RailCorp, but does not share any information collated through its website with any third party unless otherwise stated.
