Timetable changes will be made to some weekday services from
Monday, 18 August 2008.
We are introducing two new weekday services on the North Shore and Western lines to address the growing patronage on the CityRail network.
Some weekday departure times on the North Shore, Western and Northern lines will also change by a few minutes and we are adding additional carriages to some services to increase capacity.
These changes are part of CityRail's long term plan to reduce crowding and improve reliability.
- A new peak hour train service will depart Hornsby at 5.21pm, Central at 6.14pm, Parramatta at 6.41pm and will arrive at Penrith at 7.15pm.
- 5.04pm Hornsby to Parramatta service will now depart one minute earlier than currently timetabled and extra carriages will be added to increase capacity.
- 5.11pm Hornsby to Parramatta service will have extra carriages added to increase capacity.
- 5.19pm Lindfield to Strathfield service will now depart two minutes earlier than currently timetabled.

- A new fast peak hour train service will depart Chatswood at 5.45pm, Central at 6.14pm and will terminate at Penrith at 7.15pm.
- 5.27pm Chatswood to Blacktown service, departing Central at 5.55pm, will now depart up to one minute
earlier than currently timetabled and extra carriages will be added to increase capacity.
- 6.02pm Central to Penrith service will have extra carriages added to increase capacity.

- The 5.24pm Chatswood to Hornsby via the City service departing Central at 5.52pm will run up to two minutes earlier than currently timetabled.
