Trackwork
In order to maintain the safety, reliability and efficiency of the CityRail network, it is necessary for us to carry out trackwork on an ongoing basis. The majority of trackwork is undertaken outside of peak times such as overnight or on weekends. However, in the case of major works programs or essential upgrading, it is sometimes necessary to carry out trackwork on weekdays.
The impact of trackwork varies depending on the work being
undertaken. It may require changes to usual times or stopping
patterns, or full or partial closure of the tracks requiring
replacement bussing.
CityRail endeavours to inform you of all confirmed trackwork
at least 2 weeks in advance. This website is regularly updated
with current
trackwork for the fortnight ahead.
View our future trackwork calendar for planned trackwork
for the coming months. It will allow you to plan
trips in advance but remember that although we endeavour
to ensure the accuracy of information, it is subject to
change. Visit the website regularly to ensure that there
have been no late changes to the program.
You can also subscribe to our free trackwork e-mail service, to receive weekly e-mails about trackwork affecting the lines of your choice.
